We started tackling the area of our dreams destiny and purpose using the picture of a runway, flight and three different subjects that is a pig, an airplane & an eagle.
Fast tracking through the previous blog, we realized that however long the runway a pig will not fly, an airplane will fly with much adjustments and an eagle will fly seamlessly or comfortably without trouble
The place of eagle is a place of ability that comes from a place of natural giftedness.
The eagle is born with a natural instinct to fly, it’s whole being & body is crafted and made for flight. So it will not take meditation for an eagle to fly. Now this doesn’t mean that the moment an eagle is born, it will fly immediately. Certainly Not! Interestingly, eagles are some of the most caring animals for their little one. The mother eagle carefully watches over its eaglets. “Research has shown that no member of the bird family is more gentle and attentive to its young ones than the eagles. This is how it happens. When the mother eagle sees that time has come for it to teach the eaglets to fly, she gathers an eaglet onto her back, and spreading her wings, flies high. Suddenly she swoops out from under the eaglet and allows it to fall. As it falls, it gradually learns what its wings are for until the mother catches it once again. The process is repeated. If the young is slow to learn or cowardly, she returns it to the nest, and begins to tear it apart, until there is nothing left for the eaglet to cling to. Then she nudges him off the cliff.” (https://pgcpsmess.wordpress.com/2014/02/27/7-highly-effective-habits-of-eagles/)
From that point on when the eaglet starts flying, it’s like a certain switch has been flipped on for an ability that was already resident on the inside.
The same applies for humans. We are usually gifted and blessed with an abundance of abilities that are already manifest or are hidden due to the comfort of the ‘nest’ that has been provided for us.
I used to love dancing but was very shy to even dare make movement while anyone was watching. I’d be seated somewhere and I am trying to make isolations and breakdance movements but while seated. Some people would ask if I knew how to dance but I said NO. Till one day when a friend invited me to go for a salsa class in Kampala. The class was free but above all very enjoyable and rewarding for me. I was instantly hooked. I was in a place where I could learn, make mistakes and someone would pick me up and correct me. I went on to attend class for the next two years missing only a few times. But with just a few classes I was off and dancing anywhere and everywhere, shopping malls, supermarkets, entertaining at functions till date. I have enjoyed it so much, I now try out other genres of dance, been so glued and in love with dance at times I just meditate on dance movements and after a while can teach them without ever having a physical practice.
I don’t think I am the only one that has been a late bloomer when it comes to my passions and gifting. Many people out there, yourself inclusive could be a late bloomer. But I assure you late bloomer or not you have been gifted with some natural instincts, abilities talents and dreams to pursue and use to fly in this world. Go on and fly. Take the risk and fly like a little eaglet that flaps its wings until it can fly.
And if you are already pursuing those dreams and passions on the inside of you, congratulations. You are on the path of great fulfilment. Don’t get worn out, you are on your path for greatness. Years will fly by and you’ll be proud of a life well lived.
Are crazy, challenging & dampening days going to come by? Certainly yes. Simply keep your eyes on the big picture, focus on who you are, be anchored in your identity and never quit on what the Lord has put inside of you.
Go On And Fly
